Karla Krafts

This is where I log craft projects, ideas, products, materials and sources including links. I'll also document sources of inspiration. I love crafts, including knitting, quilting, scrapbooking, stained glass crafting and others. My specialties were knitted baby caps and glycerin soaps I call "Gemsoaps." Now, I'm into embroidery and beading.

I love my new mold!

I think it is perfect for casting soaps that look like carved coral, ivory, or jade. The coral one is scented with "fresh peach," and the ivory one is "magnolia" scented.

I deliver!

I hand wash my caps in warm water and Dreft Detergent. I put them in the dryer with a Bounce Free sheet. Then I pop them in a clean zipper bag while they're still warm. I slap my handmade label on them and deliver them to the birthing center! What a great feeling!

A decision

After looking at the following photos, I see that the seams on the solid colored caps are really noticeable. Note to self: Use circular needles when knitting solid color caps.

Baby Jacquards

These look great for Easter! The one with the lavender pompom is even called "Easter Basket!"

Beatrix Potter Buttons

They are cute for baby wear anytime, but I epsecially like them at Easter.

Easter Caps!

I dug out my bunny buttons. This one is my favorite (and of course, it's the most expensive button I buy! I try to use a discount coupon when I buy these at JoAnn.)

A box of yarn!

I bought these on eBay. There are a lot of discontinued yarns that can't be found in stores anymore. I also bid on them because there's an ivory skein which will match some lace embellishments that my friend, Nancy, gave me.
